College Cancels Panty Run, In Fear Of Too Much Fun?

How did we miss this? Being on the East Coast, news takes a long time to carry, so unfortunately we didn’t get wind of the University of California Los Angeles canceling their students long-standing tribute to final quarters. The tri-annual panty run is no more!

What reason could the administrators have for nixing the streak, besides being arbitrators of wet blankets? Apparently the school’s officials cited “safety” problems with the event, including increased vandalism and accidents. That happens after UCLA football games as well, but you don’t see anyone canceling those.

By far the best quote comes from “undergraduate student government General Representative” total nerd Addison Huddy, adding that the event needs to become “more regulated and more official.” If someone out there could explain how to regulate a streak, we’d love to hear from them at “theteam [at] streaktowin [dot] com.”

I'm sure the president has a plan for regulating streaks as he's figuring out ways to regulate every other aspect of our lives.
